Media Bureau Pauses 180-Day Shot Clock in Tribune/Sinclair Merger

Updated: Feb 2, 2018

The Media Bureau released a Public Notice announcing that it is pausing the 180-day transaction shot clock in the proceeding for transfer of control of Tribune Media Company to Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. for 15 days, until November 2, 2017. The Notice also permits interested parties to submit additional comments in the proceeding (MB Docket No. 17-179).

The request for comment follows a previous pleading cycle, followed by a letter sent by the Bureau to the Applicants on September 13, 2017 seeking additional information, documents, and clarification of certain matters discussed in the applications and other information submitted to the Commission. The Applicants provided a timely response on October 5, 2017.

By stopping the clock, the Commission will ensure that commenters have additional time to review and comment on new information to create a full and complete record in this proceeding.

Comments are due November 17, 2017. Comments may be filed electronically or by paper, and one copy of each submission must be sent to both David Brown (Video Division, Media Bureau, Room 2-A662, [email protected]) and David Roberts (Video Division, Media Bureau, Room 2-A660, [email protected]).
