On May 14, 2018, the Commission released a Public Notice (“Notice”) announcing the status of the 277 short-form applications received for Auction 903 in the Connect America Fund Phase II (“CAF-II”) auction. The auction is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 and will award up to $1.98 billion over 10 years to service providers that commit to offer voice and broadband services to fixed locations in unserved high-cost areas.
The Notice includes a list of 47 completed short-form applications accepted for filing in Appendix A, and each applicant listed will become a qualified bidder in all the states it selected for all of the performance tier and latency combinations it selected. Appendix B lists the 230 short-form applications that are accepted for filing but are incomplete or otherwise deficient. Incomplete applications must be corrected prior to 6:00 pm ET on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. The resubmission window opens at 10 am ET on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, and all applicants are permitted to make minor changes to their applications using the electronic Auction Application System.
The Notice also provides information regarding auction procedures, disclosures and ex partes, and prohibited communications.
