On May 28, 2019, the Commission released a News Release announcing that it has concluded bidding in Auction 102, completing the first set of high-band Spectrum Frontiers auctions in the 24 GHz and 28 GHz bands. Collectively, the two auctions raised more than $2.7 billion in gross bids. 55 applicants were qualified to bid, and the winning bidders won 5,869 licenses.
Auction 102 raised $2,024,268,941 in gross bids, and bidders won 2,904 of the 2,909 licenses offered. Auction 101 raised a total of $702,572,410, and bidders won 2,965 of the 3,072 licenses offered. The Commission will release a future Public Notice with detailed auction results and notifying Auction 102 winning bidders of deadlines and post-auction procedures. An additional Public Notice will be released announcing the detailed results of Auction 101, which have remained non-public pending the conclusion of Auction 102.
Auction 103 will begin on December 10, 2019, which includes the upper 37 GHz, 39 GHz, and 47 GHz bands. Additionally, please note, the FCC’s prohibited communications, or anti-collusion, rules for both Auction 101 (28 GHz) and Auction 102 (24 GHz) remain in effect until the conclusion of the down-payment deadline for Auction 102, which will be announced in a future Public Notice.
