WTB Consolidates DISH and T-Mobile/Sprint Dockets

On August 7, 2019, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (“Bureau”) released a Public Notice announcing it is consolidating the records of the DISH applications for extension of time with the docket for the transfer of control applications filed by T-Mobile and Sprint (WT Docket No. 18-197).

On July 26, 2019, DISH filed applications for extensions of time to construct their facilities for their AWS-4, Lower 700 MHz E Block, and AWS H Block licenses, along with a number of conditions that would require it to construct a nationwide 5G broadband network (ULS File Nos. 0008741236, 0008741420, 0008741603, 0008741789). The Bureau finds that those requests arise in connection with the proposed settlement of the DoJ’s antitrust suit against the merger of T-Mobile and Sprint, against which DISH has agreed to comply with the commitments it made to the FCC with regard to its recent filings, including its role in Boost Mobile and other divested Sprint prepaid assets.

Accordingly, the DISH records are now consolidated with the record of WT Docket No. 18-197.
