New FCC Filing Procedures for Hand-Carried Documents

On Thursday, May 28, 2020, the FCC released an Order amending its current rules to establish a new address and closing time for filing hand-carried documents with the Secretary’s Office at the FCC: 9050 Junction Drive, Annapolis Junction, MD 20701. This will be effective upon publication in the Federal Register.

After COVID-19 pandemic restrictions are lifted, this will be the only address where hand-carried paper filings for the Commission will be accepted. At that time, the filing window for hand-carried documents will be from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

This is a change from previous procedures that accepted hand-carried delivery at the FCC’s SW headquarters from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. The FCC states these changes are being made to enhance security measures and in conjunction with the FCC’s upcoming relocation to a new headquarters building, which is scheduled to occur later this year.
