On Tuesday, August 25, 2020, the FCC announced the conclusion of bidding in Auction 105, which awarded Priority Access Licenses in the 3550-3650 MHz band. Bidding concluded after 76 rounds, with gross proceeds reaching $4,585,663,345 and bidders winning more than 91.1% of available licenses (20,625 of 22,631 available licenses, the greatest number of spectrum licenses ever made available in a single FCC auction). The FCC anticipates that this band of licensed spectrum will further deployment of 5G, the Internet of Things, and other advanced spectrum-based services.
In the coming days, the FCC will release a public notice with detailed action results, including the name of the winners, deadlines for payments and filling of long-form applications, and other post auction procedures.
