FCC Releases Public Notice on Oct 17 Transition Deadline for 3650-3700 MHz Licensees

On October 16, 2020, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (the “Bureau”) released a Public Notice reminding part 90 wireless broadband licensees in the 3650-3700 MHz band of the October 17, 2020 deadline for some licensees to transition their part 90 operations in the 3650-3700 MHz band to part 96 operations.

As you may recall, this deadline comes after an extension granted by the Bureau in March 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, for all licensees that would have had to transition or cease such operations by April 17, 2020.  As a result, licensees with an October 17 transition deadline are required to complete the transition to part 96 operations or cease operating at non-transitioned sites as of tomorrow, regardless of when their license terminates.
