FCC Releases Public Notice on Auction 107 Assignment Phase

On January 26, 2021, the Office of Economics and Analytics (“OEA”) and Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (“WTB”) released a Public Notice announcing that bidding in the clock phase of Auction 107, offering flexible-use overlay licenses in the C Band, had closed.  OEA and WTB further announced that the assignment phase of Auction 107 would begin on Monday, February 8, 2021, which will permit, but does not require, bidders that won at least one generic block of spectrum in one Partial Economic Area in the clock phase to bid for frequency-specific licensing blocks.

Assignment phase bidding options and the sequence and timing for assignment rounds will be available for download in the bidding system from 10:00 AM Eastern Time on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 to 12:00 PM (noon) Eastern Time on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.  For additional information on the assignment phase, the FCC has made an Auction 107 Assignment Phase Bidding System User Guide and online tutorial available at www.fcc.gov/auction/107.  In addition, a mock auction will be conducted on Thursday, February 4, 2021.
