Reminder: Annual CPNI Certifications Due March 1, 2021

On February 4, 2021, the Enforcement Bureau released a Public Notice reminding telecommunications carriers and interconnected VoIP providers of their obligation to file their annual CPNI compliance certification by March 1, 2021.

The Public Notice contains a set of Frequently Asked questions, a CPNI Certification Template, and the text of the CPNI rules to aid providers in preparing their annual CPNI certifications.  The filing requirements and procedures have not changed from last year’s instructions, which are detailed below.  In addition, the notice reminds providers that fail to comply with the CPNI rules, including the certification requirement, may result in monetary forfeitures of up to $207,314 for each violation or each day of a continuing violation, for a maximum of $2,073,133.
