On March 19, 2021, the FCC released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and Notice of Inquiry (“NPRM” and “NOI”) in the Emergency Alert System (“EAS”) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (“WEA”) dockets, which was adopted at the March Open Meeting. There were no notable changes made from the Draft NPRM and NOI.
Comments on the NPRM will be due 21 days after date of publication in the Federal Register, and reply comments will be due 35 days after date of publication.
Comments on the NOI will be due 45 days after publication in the Federal Register, and reply comments will be due 75 days after publication.
