FCC Seeks Comment on CVAA Implementation

On April 7, 2021, the Consumer and Governmental Affairs, Media, and Wireless Telecommunications Bureaus released a Public Notice seeking an update on the FCC’s fulfillment of the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2010 (“CVAA”).  The CVAA rules aim to “ensure that individuals with disabilities are able to fully utilize communications services and equipment and better access video programming.”  Given changes in technology and industry practices over the past ten years, the Commission is now seeking comment on whether there is a need to update its rules to continue to meet these objectives.

 

Comments are due by May 24, 2021.
