Good afternoon from Washington, DC! Below you will find this week’s Weekly Wireless Wrap-Up, your update on the wireless telecommunications regulatory landscape, important wireless decisions, and more! Of note this week, the FCC held its February Open Meeting. Here’s your wrap-up:
FCC:
- On Friday, February 18, 2022, the FCC held its February Open Meeting, where it adopted three items. The FCC was scheduled to consider four items, however, prior to the meeting, the Commission adopted the Report and Order updating the broadcast technical rules and deleted it from the agenda in this Deletion Notice. For more information, and to view a copy of the Agenda, see our post here.
- Also on Friday, the Office of Economics and Analytics (“OEA”) and the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (“WTB”) released a Public Notice (“Third Procedures Notice”) seeking further comment on the competitive bidding procedures for Auction 108, which will auction approximately 8,300 geographic overlay licenses in the 2.5 GHz band (“the Auction”). Third Procedures Notice seeks comment on whether any prior noticed procedures for the Auction should be adjusted or modified in light of additions and changes to the auction inventory. Comments are due on or before March 4, 2022. For more information and to view a copy of the Notice, see our post here.
