FCC, NTIA, and Department of Treasury Announce Interagency Agreement

On May 12, 2022, the FCC, NTIA, and Department of Treasury (collectively “Agencies”) announced that they had entered into an Interagency Agreement (“Agreement”) to share information about and collaborate regarding the collection and reporting of certain data and metrics relating to broadband deployment.  Pursuant to the Agreement, the Agencies agree to:

  1. Develop consistent data collection procedures related to broadband funding the Agencies award
  2. Share information the Agencies have collected related to broadband projects the Agencies have funded
  3. Make the collected data related to post-award/authorization projects public to the extent permitted by law

The agreement is effective May 11, 2022 and will be valid for two years.  The June 2021 Memorandum of Understanding between the FCC, NTIA, and USDA to coordinate the distribution of federal high-speed internet funds remains in effect.
