June 1, 2022 Weekly Wireless Wrap-Up

Good afternoon from Washington, DC!  Below you will find this week’s Weekly Wireless Wrap-Up, your update on the wireless telecommunications regulatory landscape, important wireless decisions, and more!  Here is your wrap-up:

FCC:

  • Last Friday, the Office of Managing Director released a Public Notice announcing that the FCC’s Legacy Commission Registration System (“Legacy CORES”) will be decommissioned on July 15, 2022 at 6 PM. Users that have not established a new CORES account are encouraged to do so before that date to ensure they may continue to access the FCC’s systems.  For more information and to view a copy of the Notice, see our post here.
  • Yesterday, the FCC announced that it was launching an online help center and posting other new resources to assist internet service providers, and other filers of verified broadband availability data, prepare their submissions when the filing window opens. As a reminder, the inaugural Broadband Data Collection (“BDC”) filing window opens on June 30, 2022, and all facilities-based providers of fixed and mobile broadband internet access service must submit broadband availability data as of June 30, 2022 through the BDC no later than September 1, 2022.  For more information and to view the announcement, see our post here.
