- CALLER ID AUTHENTICATION
- On 10/28, the FCC released a Notice of Inquiry (“NOI”) seeking comment on how to address caller ID authentication in non-IP networks. The NOI was adopted at the October Open Meeting. - 12.7 GHz BAND
- On 10/28, the FCC released a Notice of Inquiry and Order seeking to explore the potential for broadening the use of the 12.7-13.25 GHz band to support terrestrial mobile broadband or other expanded uses. The item was adopted at the October Open Meeting. Comments are due 30 days from the date of release and reply comments are due 60 days from the date of release. - WIRELESS EMERGENCY ALERTS
- On 10/27, the FCC released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (“NPRM”) seeking comments on updates to the Wireless Emergency Alerts and Emergency Alert System to ensure that they are secure against cybersecurity attacks. - PR/USVI MOBILE AND FIXED SUPPORT
- On 10/28, the FCC released a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (“FNPRM”) seeking comment on proposals to ensure that mobile carriers continue to implement advanced telecommunications services and that fixed providers have sufficient resiliency during the transition period of the Bringing Puerto Rico Fund and Connect USVI Fund.
