  • WIRELESS RESILIENCY
    • On 12/2, the FCC published in the Federal Register CTIA and CCA’s Petition for Clarification and Partial Reconsideration (“Petition”) of the FCC’s Resilient Networks Report and Order. Oppositions are due on or before December 19, 2022. Replies are due on or before December 27, 2022. For more information and to view a copy of the Notice, see our post here.
  • ROBOCALLS
    • On 12/8, the Enforcement Bureau released an Order providing US-base voice service providers with notice of suspected illegal robocall traffic and directing them to take measures to mitigate robocall traffic from several entities placing robocalls regarding student loans.   • FCC FORM 477
    • On 12/9, the FCC released an Order announcing that it was sunsetting the collection of broadband deployment data through the FCC Form 477 system. Providers will instead utilize the Broadband Data Collection system to report fixed and mobile broadband availability data, fixed and mobile subscription data, and mobile voice availability data.  For more information and to view a copy of the Order, see our post here.
  • USF CONTRIBUTIONS
    • On 12/9, the Office of Managing Director released a Public Notice announcing that the proposed universal service contribution factor for the first quarter of 2023 will be .326 or 32.6%. For more information and to view a copy of the Notice, see our post here.
  • DECEMBER OPEN MEETING
    • On 12/14, the FCC released the Agenda for the December Open Meeting scheduled for December 21, 2022 at 10:30 AM. The Commission is set to consider five items, including a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on preventing digital discrimination and a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on location based routing for wireless 911 calls and texts.  For more information and to view a copy of the Agenda, see our post here.
