FCC Extends Broadband Consumer Label Comment Dates

On January 4, 2023, the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau released an Order granting a Request for Extension of Time to file comments and reply comments to the Commission’s Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on the Broadband Consumer Label, which was filed by 17 groups and individuals.   The parties requested a 60 day extension due to the number of holidays and the other important broadband-related deadlines that fell during the comment period, including the broadband map challenge deadline and a Federal Trade Commission deadline for comments on its “junk fees” proceeding.  The Bureau found good cause to grant a 30 day extension.
