ROBOCALLS

  • On 3/20, the FCC released a Sixth Report and Order and Sixth Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking requiring first intermediate providers in the call path to implement STIR/SHAKEN, expanding robocall mitigation requirements for all providers, adopting additional enforcement tools, and seeking comment on additional steps to enhance the effectiveness of the STIR/SHAKEN framework.  ROBOTEXTS

  • On 3/17, the FCC released a Report and Order and Further Notice and Proposed Rulemaking adopting rules requiring providers to block, at a network level, robotext messages that are highly likely to be illegal.  SUPPLEMENTAL COVERAGE FROM SPACE

  • On 3/17, the FCC released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking seeking comment on a new framework for Supplemental Coverage from Space. The framework would allow satellite operators to collaborate with terrestrial service providers to expand coverage to terrestrial licensee subscribers in areas where the terrestrial licensee’s network has gaps.
