On July 10, 2023, the FCC published in the Federal Register the Report and Order and Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and Order on the 12.2-12.7 GHz (12.2 GHz band) and the 12.7-13.25 GHz (12.7 GHz band) bands, thereby establishing several deadlines as follows:
12.2 GHz Band:
- The Report and Order on Expanding Flexible Use of the 12.2-12.7 GHz Band – the Report and Order is effective July 10, 2023.
- The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Expanding Flexible Use of the 12.2-12.7 GHz Band – Comments are due on or before August 9, 2023; reply comments are due on or before September 8, 2023. Comments pursuant to the Paperwork Reduction Act must be submitted on or before September 8, 2023.
12.7 GHz Band:
- The Order on Expanding Use of the 12.7-13.25 GHz Band for Mobile Broadband or Other Expanded Use – the Order is effective July 10, 2023.
- The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Expanding Flexible of the 12.7-13.25 GHz Band for Mobile Broadband or Other Expanded Use – Comments are due on or before August 9, 2023; reply comments are due on or before September 8, 2023. Comments pursuant to the Paperwork Reduction Act must be submitted on or before September 8, 2023.
