On July 25, 2023, the FCC released a Public Notice extending the deadline for the submission of Broadband Data Collection (“BCD”) data as of June 30, 2023 to September 15, 2023. The extension is granted to provide broadband service providers with additional time to incorporate updated Fabric data into their submission after a processing error in the June 2023 Fabric resulted in broadband serviceable locations (“BSLs”) not being included in the June 2023 Fabric files originally sent to certain license holders.
CostQuest will be providing an updated version of the June 2023 Fabric by August 1, 2023 that includes the added BSLs. CostQuest will also provide a change list to filers so that they may easily identify whether they have service available at any of the added locations and therefore need to update their BDC submission. Filers who have already uploaded or submitted fixed broadband availability data will need to reupload or resubmit their data based on the updated Fabric release.
There is no extension of the September 8, 2023 bulk challenge deadline for the June 2023 version of the Fabric and entities intending to file bulk challenges should submit them by September 8, 2023. CostQuest will be sending the updated June 2023 Fabric and change list to State, Tribal and other third-party licensees at the same time it is sent to providers. There is no need to resubmit or modify any bulk challenges that have been prepared for filing.
