FCC Releases FY 2023 Wireless Regulatory Fee Fact Sheet

On August 29, 2023, the FCC released a Fact Sheet on regulatory fees for wireless licensees for Fiscal Year (“FY”) 2023.  As a reminder, regulatory fees must be received by the FCC no later than 11:59 PM, Eastern Time, on September 20, 2023.

The Fact Sheet reiterates that CMRS licensees are required to pay regulatory fees for licenses held as of October 1, 2022, even if a license expired after that date.  Regulatory fees are assessed based on the number of telephone numbers or subscriber counts as reported in a carrier’s Numbering Resource Utilization Forecast report as of December 31, 2022.  Subscriber counts may be viewed in CORES.  If there is an error in the subscriber count, a request to revise the subscriber count must be submitted by September 15, 2023.  CMRS Cellular and Mobile services have a fee rate of $0.16 per subscriber and CMRS messaging services have a fee rate of $0.08 per subscriber.
