  • OPEN MEETINGS
    • On 11/15, the FCC held its November Open Meeting. The FCC adopted seven items, including:
      • A Report and Order and Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking adopting rules prohibiting digital discrimination
      • A Report and Order adopting rules to implement the Safe Connections Act
      • A Notice of Inquiry on utilizing artificial intelligence to combat robocalls, and
      • A Report and Order and Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking adopting rules to protect against SIM Swapping and Port-Out Fraud.

  • CONGRESS
    • On 11/14, the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology held a hearing entitled “Leveraging AI to Enhance American Communications.” Witnesses included Courtney Lang, Vice President of Policy, Trust, Data, and Technology at the Information Technology Industry Council, Sam Rubin, Vice President of Global Operations, Unit 42 at Palo Alto Networks, Dr. Sameh Yamany, Chief Technology Officer at VIAVI Solutions, and Dr. Nicol Turner Lee, Senior Fellow in Governance Studies and Director at the Center for technology Innovation, Brookings Institution.
