On September 2, 2025, the FCC published the Third Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and Order on Reconsideration (“FNPRM” and “Order,” respectively) on the Commission’s Disaster Information Reporting System (“DIRS”) in the Federal Register, thereby setting comment dates.
Comments are due on or before October 2, 2025.
Reply comments are due on or before November 3, 2025.
The following notable changes were made from the draft item:
- ¶ 14 – The Commission added an inquiry into whether the reporting process can be further modified or improved to reduce compliance burdens on smaller providers.
