Transactional practice is very similar to litigation in that it focuses on discovery, preparation of evidence and counseling clients.

Most transactional lawyers will work closely with their client’s​ general counsel, CFO or other executives to provide legal advice on matters such as business transactions, contract drafting and commercial disputes.

There are three main types of transactional practice. The first deals with business transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, commercial finance, banking, venture capital and securities.
