On September 2, 2020, the FCC announced the Winning Bidders in Auction 105, the auction of Priority Access Licenses (“PALs”) in the 3550-3650 MHz portion of the 3.5 GHz band. In total, Auction 105 raised $4,543,232,339 in net bids ($4,585,663,345 in gross bids), with 228 bidders winning a total of 20,625 licenses.
The top five bidders with the largest winning bid amounts were:
- Verizon Wireless Network Procurement LP – $1,893,791,991 receiving 557 PALs
- Wetterhorn Wireless LLC, the bidding name for Dish Network – $912,939,410 receiving 5,492 PALs
- Spectrum Wireless Holdings, LLC – $464,251,209 receiving 210 PALs
- XF Wireless Investment, LLC – $458,725,900 receiving 830 PALs
- Cox Communications, Inc. – $212, 805,412 receiving 470 PALs
The top five bidders who were awarded the largest number of licenses were:
- Wetterhorn Wireless, LLC receiving 5,492 PALs
- SAL Spectrum, LLC receiving 1,569 PALs
- AMG Technology Investment Group, LLC receiving 1,072 PALs
- Windstream Services, LLC Debtor-in-Possession receiving 1,014 PALs
- XF Wireless Investment, LLC receiving 803 PALs
Down payments are due on September 17, 2020 by 6:00 PM Eastern Time.
FCC Forms 601 and 602 are due on September 17, 2020 by 6:00 PM Eastern Time.
The prohibition on certain communications pursuant to section 1.2105(c) (the anti-collusion rule) remains in effect until September 17, 2020 at 6:00 PM Eastern Time.
Final Payments are due on October 1, 2020 by 6:00 PM Eastern Time.
