FCC Releases Public Notice Establishing Deadlines for Disconnected Number Reporting

On February 8, 2021, the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau released a Public Notice announcing today’s Federal Register publication of the compliance date for 47 C.F.R. § 64.1200(l)(2), which was adopted in 2018 Reassigned Numbers Database Order.  The Public Notice reminds providers that Section 64.1200(l)(2) requires providers to report permanent disconnections of their subscribers on the 15th day of each month to the Reassigned Numbers Database and establishes April 15, 2021, as the first reporting deadline.  Small service providers (providers with 100,000 or fewer domestic retail subscriber lines) have an additional six months, until October 15, 2021, to file their first report.  The reports must contain data for numbers permanently disconnected that were not submitted in the prior reports.  Providers will initially populate the Database with “seed” data covering the period from July 27, 2020, through April 15, 2021, while small service providers will initially populate the Database with “seed” data covering the period from January 27, 2021, through October 15, 2021.
