CGB Seeks Comments for Second Call Blocking Report

On April 13, 2021, the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau (“CGB”) released a Public Notice seeking industry input for a second Call Blocking Report that will detail the availability and effectiveness of call blocking products and services offered in the United States, and the impact of call blocking on public safety.  Comments will be due on or before April 30, 2021.  The CGB seeks updated information from March 1, 2020 to the present on the following topics, as detailed in the Public Notice:

  • Availability of Call-Blocking Tools
  • Effectiveness of Call-Blocking Tools
  • Impact of FCC Actions
  • Impact on 911 Services and Public Safety
  • Any other relevant information on the state of deployment of advanced methods and tools to eliminate illegal and unwanted calls
