FCC Reminds Providers of September 28 Blocking Deadline

On September 28, 2021, the Wireline Competition Bureau released a Public Notice reminding voice service providers and intermediate service providers that beginning today, September 28, 2021, they are required to block calls from any voice service provider that has failed to file in the Robocall Mitigation Database.

The Public Notice also announced that the Bureau is creating an email subscription service to notify subscribers of updates to the Robocall Mitigation Database, including newly added or deleted filings, as well as changes to a provider’s “Business Name.”  Entities interested in subscribing to email updates can do so through the Robocall Mitigation Database portal by clicking on the “Subscribe to weekly updates” link on their personalized welcome page.  By subscribing, providers will receive an email every Tuesday at 11 AM ET listing modifications to the database over the preceding week.

The FCC also released a News Release on the blocking deadline.
