FCC to Permit Visitors with Scheduled Appointments Starting June 9

On June 8, 2022, the FCC released a Public Notice announcing that beginning tomorrow, June 9, 2022, the FCC will permit visitors with scheduled appointments to enter its facilities, in conjunction with the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force safety protocols.  The FCC contact that the visitor is scheduled to meet will be required to escort their visitor throughout their time in the facility.  Visitors must comply with the following safety protocols:

  • Use the CDC Facility Access Tool to self-assess their health for possible symptoms of COVID-19 on the day of the visit and relevant symptoms within the past 48 hours; and
  • When visiting FCC facilities located in a county where the COVID-19 Community Level is MEDIUM or HIGH complete a Certification of Vaccination form attesting that they are fully vaccinated – or – present a negative COVID-19 test result from an approved test taken in the three days prior to entry.

Visitors also must comply with FCC guidance and signage when they are in an FCC facility, including wearing a mask in FCC facilities located in counties where the COVID-19 Community Level is HIGH or where local regulations require.  Visitors are encouraged to coordinate with their FCC contact well ahead of their scheduled visit and to arrive early to allow time to go through security and any necessary screening protocols.  Individuals without an appointment will not be permitted to enter FCC facilities.

The FCC has created a new “Visiting FCC Facilities” page on its website, located at https://www.fcc.gov/visit, which has additional information for visitors to help prepare for visits to the Commission.
