On November 23, 2022, the FCC published in the Federal Register the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking seeking comment on updates to the Emergency Alert System (“EAS”) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (“WEA”) to ensure these systems are secure against cybersecurity attacks, thereby setting the comment and reply comment dates.
