On January 26, 2024, the FCC published in the Federal Register the below referenced Order on Reconsideration addressing a Petition filed by CCA and CTIA requesting that the FCC clarify and/or reconsider portions of the FCC’s Report and Order codifying the Mandatory Disaster Response Initiative (“MDRI”). Notably, this Order on Reconsideration extended the MDRI compliance date to the later of (a) May 1, 2024, or (b) 30 days following an announcement that OMB review has been completed. At this time, publication of this announcement has not yet occurred, despite OMB approving the information collection on October 27, 2023.
